Product Description

Product Introduction
Raw Material Low - Impurity LABSA for Dishwashing Liquid
LABSA, short for Linear Alkylbenzene Sulfonic Acid, is a key organic chemical raw material. It appears as a viscous, colorless - to - light - yellow liquid with a pungent odor, produced by sulfonating linear alkylbenzene.

Structurally, it has a long - chain linear alkyl group attached to a benzene ring, along with a sulfonic acid group. This gives it amphiphilic properties - the alkyl chain is hydrophobic, while the sulfonic group is hydrophilic.

Highly reactive, its sulfonic group can neutralize with bases (like sodium hydroxide) to form LAS, a widely - used surfactant. Soluble in water and some organic solvents, it suits diverse industrial applications.

Product Application
  • Detergent Industry: LABSA is the key raw material for manufacturing LAS, one of the most widely used anionic surfactants in the detergent industry. In laundry detergents, LAS effectively reduces the surface tension of water, allowing it to penetrate into the fabric fibers and lift away dirt, oil, and stains. For example, in powdered laundry detergents, LAS helps to emulsify grease stains, making them easier to wash away. In dishwashing liquids, it quickly breaks down and removes oily residues from dishes, glasses, and utensils.
  • Textile Industry: It is used as a scouring agent and dyeing auxiliary. As a scouring agent, LABSA helps to remove impurities such as sizing agents, oils, and waxes from textile fibers before dyeing or printing, ensuring better dye uptake and more even color distribution. In the dyeing process, LABSA can act as a dispersant, preventing dye particles from aggregating and promoting uniform dyeing of the fabric.
  • Leather Industry: In leather processing, LABSA is used in the degreasing stage. Leather often contains natural fats and oils that need to be removed before further treatment such as tanning. LABSA emulsifies these fats and oils, making them easier to wash away, which improves the quality and performance of the final leather product.
  • Agricultural Chemicals: LABSA can be used as an ingredient in pesticide formulations. It functions as a dispersant and emulsifier, helping to evenly disperse pesticide active ingredients in water - based solutions. This ensures that the pesticides are more effectively delivered to the target pests or plants, enhancing their efficacy.
